They had a concert so that added an additional 3,000 people to the property. There were long lines for parking and we had to park and walk back off site. We decided to give the MGM another try last night. Good thing about this one is that you are also about two minutes from parking garage to National Harbor with lots of places to also go eat and hang out and about two minutes to the Tangerine Outlets for more reasonable shopping options although this is in the opposite direction of the Harbor. While a casino is a casino is a casino, the views from this one will knock your socks off. It houses a number of upscale restaurants and shops and also has a nice food court with reasonable eating options such as a shake shack, pizza and other reasonably priced food options. This area overlooks DC, the Potomac, National Harbor and Old Town Alexandria in the distance. It has an outdoor area which actually sits above the garage which has some restaurant/bar seating and a nice water feature with a giant screen.
While I did not stay in the hotel I must say it is stunning. I've seen the MGM grand in different stages so we had to come see the finished product. I am a frequent visitor to National Harbor and my family and I enjoy the waterfront area.
